Jennifer Cheen-Mei Leigh (she/her) is a British-Malaysian, independent producer currently based in London and North-West England. She is particularly interested in musical theatre and new writing that tells exciting, feel-good or thought-provoking stories.
Her interest in producing began at university and has since led to a wealth of productions across the UK, from award-winning Edinburgh Fringe musicals to various development projects with emerging talent.
She is proudly supported by Stage One, a charity supporting commercial theatre producers, through their 2022/23 Bridge The Gap programme and West End workshops. Jennifer was a 2022 EdFringe Society Emerging Producer and is a junior member of The League of Independent Producers.
Jennifer is a highly analytical producer, with a flair for understanding numbers. She holds first-class degree in Mathematics from Durham University and a masters in Computing from Imperial College London (QS Word Rankings 2025: 1st in UK/Europe, 2nd in the world).Â
Alongside independent producing, her role at Sonia Friedman Productions extends across sales, ticketing and marketing, using data science and analysis to understand audience trends from the West End to Broadway. At SFP, her data-driven insights support shows such as THE BOOK OF MORMON, HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD and STEREOPHONIC.
